I also want more connections with Steins;Gate 0. I want to see Maho, Amadeus, Yuki and Fubuki in this remake. Because those characters are all important to the story (even Fubuki) and I'd like them to have some routes where they matter. Also, I think a Daru route connecting to A;C would be crazy good. If they want to point out at their final title, which would be the fusion of all SciADV and the defeat of the Committee of 300, they need to take this opportunity to set a first stone. A better and clearer one than R;N DaSH did.

I'd love to see an Anonymous;Code anime adaptation someday. It's my favourite entry in the series. But it's extremely challenging to adapt because of its meta elements. The player and protagonist are two different entities. So unless they find a super creative solution to this, an anime adaptation would be like watching somebody else play a video game.

There is no 4 in the gear. Also I think they just messed up the logo lol. They also missed the 4 in A;C's opening. And in 0's logo, only the 4 is there, the rest is missing. Lmao
I think the most obvious detail is Faris hair colour. In the supposedly science novel series (not science adventure) which would be comprised by O:9 and A;C the characters do not present weird hair-colours naturally. Of course, in A;C that might not be taken into consideration since you can basically change your hair colour at your will through augmented reality. Right now I think that most of the content will definitely be similar, but it will definitely have implications on the real-world layer that Pollon accesses at the end of A;C.
I was hoping you’d make a video on this announcement! I’m really interested to see what they’ll do with this. I really want to cope by believing that this will follow the post-collapse continuity, but I’m worried that they won’t considering they’re framing this entry as a gateway into SciADV for newcomers. About Daru's design, I hope you are wrong and that is just that they didn't have his new design ready yet, as I don't want to see reused assets from the original game just because they don't want to spend some more money :/ like the situation that happened with some characters in S;G 0
@MikroLGS some routes can simplify and added to main story (like ayase and rimi route) some routes can be deleted without losing anything (nanami and yua route). more important routes can be add as short ova's (kozue and sena)
Good video. When i was playing Steins Gate Elite i was shocked when Nae was threatening Okabe, i think that might be very intense if it gets an adaptation.
That was a part of the original VN. The Nae, Tennouji and Moeka parts were cut down in the anime. Now maybe things from short stories and elsewhere that expand on her future in that worldline maybe could be worked in.

Yeah, same thought here, because the reboot name might be implying after the worldline collapse. It will make so much sense and clarify post A;C event because we want to see what happen to world layers that not effected by parameters.
One major possible change to s;g reboot can be the ending in which okabe reaching the s;g worldline without the need for the s;g zero okabe to send the video back in time since it resulted in two active worldlines (which was a bug and should not have happened). And/Or it changes in a way which didn't cause okabe to suddenly disappear in the movie load region deja vu. Or even incorporate some changes from the other worldlines into the main story as well to change things up as well. Or maybe in this reboot ruka is actually a girl lol. *Breathing heavily in copium*

I thought it would be called "Steins;Door". Well the thing is, reboot means retelling the story from the start, sometimes changing minor/major part of the story. So imo, it will be either a sequel or a whole new story with the same character, cuz multiple worldlines do exist in there. Or maybe it would also be the same story but with some change or new route(like adding moeka's route). This is just a theory tho

Yeah, unfortunately the series' anime adaptations cut a lot of content to make the entries seem far more standalone than they actually are. These are all heavily interconnected works, to the point that I'd compare them to Jojo parts. But if you're interested, I've made a beginner's guide video to the overarching Science Adventure series!
Is there really anything else left to be done with steins;gate to justify the reboot ? The og story ties up all the loose ends perfectly so I don't really see what else there is to add or change. maybe a kiryu moeka route and but that's about it.
Depending on what they do with it and if Steins;??? takes place after Anonymous;Code and the world line collapse, then yes actually. From the standpoint of the future of SciADV after Anonymous;Code, Steins;Gate Re:Boot might narratively be necessary. Anonymous;Code left just as many questions as it answers. And those need to be addressed. Steins;Gate Re:Boot could be a good opportunity to do that.

They started off the year saying they'd be releasing a highly anticipated sequel in commemoration of Steins;Gate's 15th anniversary after all.
I recently watched the anime and zero and loved it! Been looking to get into the VN so even if it just the same as the original with better art I would be a bit disappointed but still pleased. I hope if it is a sorta sequel I can still experience it without playing the VN and only watching the anime
It will never be the same, I love this series but they should have understood they should keep it as it was, the good things always end, no need to explote it out of the cope of getting money
Many things I would like. Personally wasn't a fan of any of the extended material so hoping they keep it separate almost entirely. I'm very pessimistic on their ability to deliver something on the level of the original steins gate and am hoping to be proven wrong. For me they are risking the integrity of the OG works and might cast a blemish on them, quite a risky maneuver. Hopefully the could expand the Daru stuff you mentioned in the vid in some other visual novel/side media. Hoping they don't risk changing much only adding, changing for the worse is my biggest fear.
The question with Re:Boot is which continuity it happens in. It can be a remake with a 90% overlap in content as the original. But if it takes place in the post-GAIA reboot continuity, then it's effectively also a meta sequel because it's a version of S;G that happens after the original S;G. If it takes place in a different world layer in the original continuity, only then is it "just a remake".
They announced it was a game. And of all the entries in the series they could reboot the anime for, Steins;Gate is the absolute dead last one they should do.
Last we heard like 2 years back, it hadn't entered production yet. But interestingly, the new Steins;Gate 0 pachinko with NewGin has newly animated footage from previously VN-exclusive material.
Thanks for the roundup. My feelings... I'm probably lacking critical information since I've not had time to read A:C. From what I've heard it seems to have changed all the things and my interest in the ; series was in the wider conflict against the Committee of 300 (And all the homies I've come to know through the series). If the threat is now all of reality scale, not sure how to feel about that. I had felt that with every extra spinoff and side thing the time mechanics of Steins;Gate developed more plotholes. I like the character parts at least. So whatever this is - I'm most worried about any more cracks in the consistency of the setting. If it's set in 2025, are these people's lives and relationships really cut and pasted 15 years later? with minimal? effect? Or is that just release date and the OG parts of the story still in 2010? Wider character and world stuff picked from the better parts of the side content would be nice - but if it complicates the time mechanics, it would take me out of the story. Still having the mixed feelings this franchise been giving me for years.
I feel that HARD. The whole A;C deal feels like the worst possible kind of "it was just a dream" asspull imaginable. How are we supposed to care for new series when they basically undid the entire stories we actually cared for?

At that point, you could literally argue that the entirety of the Steins;Gate sub-series is meaningless because all the world line shifts make it so that most of their events "never happened". But no, that's ridiculous. Them reaching the Steins Gate world line doesn't make any of the preceding events meaningless. They still "happened" in a way and their events were necessary to reach the Steins Gate world line. With A;C, it's more of the same. The world line collapse is a GAIA-wide world line shift. And Reading Steiner survives the world line collapse - in both endings of the story. The entire series up to Anonymous;Code needed to happen in order to avert the apocalypse that Ayase was constantly blabbing about in her prophecies. Also, with regards to the "it was just a dream" thing, at that point, you'd also have to consider the whole Chaos; series an "asspull" because much of it was just delusion. The very concept of SciADV as a series is exploring the question "Is the scenery your eyes perceive truly real?". This is a series meant to blur the boundary between what's real and what isn't. And part of the the series' premise was it being in a multi-layered simulation. We've known that right from Chaos;Head NoAH and it's in our face multiple times in every entry in the series. Not to mention in the lyrics of every song. The true nature of the SciADV world is even confirmed in the Steins;Gate guidebook. This is not an asspull at all. It's the series' premise.

So far, they have announced very little: that it's based on the original story with refreshed graphics by huke. The question is which continuity this occurs in - whether it's in the original continuity on a different world layer like S;G Elite or the post-GAIA reboot continuity. If it's post-reboot, even if it's 90% the same story, Re:Boot would automatically a meta sequel by default. It'd be a version of Steins;Gate taking place after the original Steins;Gate. Longtime SciADV Art Director, Fumihiro Kitahara, responded to Japanese fans theorizing this was in the post-reboot continuity saying he could neither confirm nor deny it. So we'll have to see where they go with this.
i'm not thrilled by this at all, even if they add a couple of things this is crearly a cashgrab, and the sprites are worse than the originals. closer to zero's style, yes, but that wasn't this bad. flat colors, no shadows, bare textures. i'll wait for more about it, but for now it's a bit of a downer
Anonymous;Code spoilers I reckon it's probably a retelling of Steins;Gate as it happened on the topmost world layer, as you say that's actually likely needed for Steins;??? if that's to be post-a;c since now the original Steins;Gate effectively didn't happen. It's a very good excuse to do a Steins;Gate remake (which will probably sell well because, well, Steins;Gate!), altering things as they see fit because, well, canonically they can! Some say Anonymous;Code makes the stories mean less, I can see why people would think this but I don't think so, it actually basically fixes any and all plotholes in the earlier entries (as has been pointed out before) and gives Mages an excuse to retell the stories again, which means we get to read/experience them again (and differently) and they get our money again, everyone wins! :D
It wouldn't be possible for Re:Boot to occur on the topmost world layer since the only reason Steins;Gate's mechanics were possible in the first place were because of simulation parameter modifications allowing room for errors. We know this from the A;C Guidebook, which is arguably the single most important piece of SciADV side material ever. The topmost world layer is reality, where none of these mechanics would be possible. If Re:Boot does take place after the world line collapse, then it would have to take place on some world layer below.

I dont mind the new game being what it will probably be end up being but i kinda dont care anymore about the original cast at this point I did not like AC that much, the usual character drama you find in a SCIADV game was not there and the story felt rushed, and with Mages milking the hell of Steins to please their new chinese overlords i was really hyped for Steins;God or somenthing to wipe the slate clean with a new cast. Like Chaos Child. Another version of the original Steins, as Meta as New as it will end up being, is not what in my opinion the series needs right now. It needs new blood. But those character sells so i guess we still be seeing then a lot for a while
On that note, i REALLY want Steins;Somenthing to not feature anyone from the original cast except like Nae and Mister Braun, really minor characters like that. Not even Kurisu that appeared in every game since then.

It time they face the overarching big bad of the Committee of 300. There was a comment from the Writer of Stein Gate, Chaos Head and Robotics Notes that the year 2026 was going to be hell for the lab members in series. Okabe should 100 % play a major role in a future game because Daru did in the Robotic Notes sequel and even Kurisu keep showing up in some way in the games after Stein Gate. That most interesting thing is we are getting close to 2026 in real life. Then again trying to pull off a big climax like this in a Visual novel could be really hard to do with so many characters that have show up through out the whole Science Adventure series Visual novel

I recently watched the anime and zero and loved it! Been looking to get into the VN so even if it just the same as the original with better art I would be a bit disappointed but still pleased. I hope if it is a sorta sequel I can still experience it without playing the VN and only watching the anime
It will never be the same, I love this series but they should have understood they should keep it as it was, the good things always end, no need to explote it out of the cope of getting money

I'm always concerned when I hear remake. I feel like certain plot points could be ruined if this version is for "modern audiences"
Many things I would like. Personally wasn't a fan of any of the extended material so hoping they keep it separate almost entirely. I'm very pessimistic on their ability to deliver something on the level of the original steins gate and am hoping to be proven wrong. For me they are risking the integrity of the OG works and might cast a blemish on them, quite a risky maneuver. Hopefully the could expand the Daru stuff you mentioned in the vid in some other visual novel/side media. Hoping they don't risk changing much only adding, changing for the worse is my biggest fear.

The question with Re:Boot is which continuity it happens in. It can be a remake with a 90% overlap in content as the original. But if it takes place in the post-GAIA reboot continuity, then it's effectively also a meta sequel because it's a version of S;G that happens after the original S;G. If it takes place in a different world layer in the original continuity, only then is it "just a remake".
I'm not too familiar with the VN industry but it's not possible for it to be a Anime reboot?
They announced it was a game. And of all the entries in the series they could reboot the anime for, Steins;Gate is the absolute dead last one they should do.

Last we heard like 2 years back, it hadn't entered production yet. But interestingly, the new Steins;Gate 0 pachinko with NewGin has newly animated footage from previously VN-exclusive material.

I'm probably lacking critical information since I've not had time to read A:C. From what I've heard it seems to have changed all the things and my interest in the ; series was in the wider conflict against the Committee of 300 (And all the homies I've come to know through the series). If the threat is now all of reality scale, not sure how to feel about that.
I had felt that with every extra spinoff and side thing the time mechanics of Steins;Gate developed more plotholes. I like the character parts at least. So whatever this is - I'm most worried about any more cracks in the consistency of the setting. If it's set in 2025, are these people's lives and relationships really cut and pasted 15 years later? with minimal? effect? Or is that just release date and the OG parts of the story still in 2010?
Wider character and world stuff picked from the better parts of the side content would be nice - but if it complicates the time mechanics, it would take me out of the story.

The whole A;C deal feels like the worst possible kind of "it was just a dream" asspull imaginable. How are we supposed to care for new series when they basically undid the entire stories we actually cared for?
@@tipoima That line of reasoning is antithetical to the very message of the series. At that point, you could literally argue that the entirety of the Steins;Gate sub-series is meaningless because all the world line shifts make it so that most of their events "never happened". But no, that's ridiculous. Them reaching the Steins Gate world line doesn't make any of the preceding events meaningless. They still "happened" in a way and their events were necessary to reach the Steins Gate world line. With A;C, it's more of the same. The world line collapse is a GAIA-wide world line shift. And Reading Steiner survives the world line collapse - in both endings of the story. The entire series up to Anonymous;Code needed to happen in order to avert the apocalypse that Ayase was constantly blabbing about in her prophecies.
Also, with regards to the "it was just a dream" thing, at that point, you'd also have to consider the whole Chaos; series an "asspull" because much of it was just delusion. The very concept of SciADV as a series is exploring the question "Is the scenery your eyes perceive truly real?". This is a series meant to blur the boundary between what's real and what isn't. And part of the the series' premise was it being in a multi-layered simulation. We've known that right from Chaos;Head NoAH and it's in our face multiple times in every entry in the series. Not to mention in the lyrics of every song. The true nature of the SciADV world is even confirmed in the Steins;Gate guidebook. This is not an asspull at all. It's the series' premise.

It's like getting to to the top of the Shinra building and then finding out they're not the real threat. And it took like 15 years to get to that point.

So far, they have announced very little: that it's based on the original story with refreshed graphics by huke. The question is which continuity this occurs in - whether it's in the original continuity on a different world layer like S;G Elite or the post-GAIA reboot continuity. If it's post-reboot, even if it's 90% the same story, Re:Boot would automatically a meta sequel by default. It'd be a version of Steins;Gate taking place after the original Steins;Gate. Longtime SciADV Art Director, Fumihiro Kitahara, responded to Japanese fans theorizing this was in the post-reboot continuity saying he could neither confirm nor deny it. So we'll have to see where they go with this.
i'm not thrilled by this at all, even if they add a couple of things this is crearly a cashgrab, and the sprites are worse than the originals. closer to zero's style, yes, but that wasn't this bad. flat colors, no shadows, bare textures. i'll wait for more about it, but for now it's a bit of a downer

I reckon it's probably a retelling of Steins;Gate as it happened on the topmost world layer, as you say that's actually likely needed for Steins;??? if that's to be post-a;c since now the original Steins;Gate effectively didn't happen. It's a very good excuse to do a Steins;Gate remake (which will probably sell well because, well, Steins;Gate!), altering things as they see fit because, well, canonically they can!
Some say Anonymous;Code makes the stories mean less, I can see why people would think this but I don't think so, it actually basically fixes any and all plotholes in the earlier entries (as has been pointed out before) and gives Mages an excuse to retell the stories again, which means we get to read/experience them again (and differently) and they get our money again, everyone wins! :D
It wouldn't be possible for Re:Boot to occur on the topmost world layer since the only reason Steins;Gate's mechanics were possible in the first place were because of simulation parameter modifications allowing room for errors. We know this from the A;C Guidebook, which is arguably the single most important piece of SciADV side material ever. The topmost world layer is reality, where none of these mechanics would be possible. If Re:Boot does take place after the world line collapse, then it would have to take place on some world layer below.

I did not like AC that much, the usual character drama you find in a SCIADV game was not there and the story felt rushed, and with Mages milking the hell of Steins to please their new chinese overlords i was really hyped for Steins;God or somenthing to wipe the slate clean with a new cast. Like Chaos Child. Another version of the original Steins, as Meta as New as it will end up being, is not what in my opinion the series needs right now. It needs new blood. But those character sells so i guess we still be seeing then a lot for a while
On that note, i REALLY want Steins;Somenthing to not feature anyone from the original cast except like Nae and Mister Braun, really minor characters like that. Not even Kurisu that appeared in every game since then.
@@lucasbueno5720 Steins Something could turn out to be the climax of the Science Adventure series so far. I want the character from all the other game to all have a role in it. It time they face the overarching big bad of the Committee of 300. There was a comment from the Writer of Stein Gate, Chaos Head and Robotics Notes that the year 2026 was going to be hell for the lab members in series. Okabe should 100 % play a major role in a future game because Daru did in the Robotic Notes sequel and even Kurisu keep showing up in some way in the games after Stein Gate. That most interesting thing is we are getting close to 2026 in real life. Then again trying to pull off a big climax like this in a Visual novel could be really hard to do with so many characters that have show up through out the whole Science Adventure series Visual novel
